Serving Up Charity
In 2013, the Hagan Cup Classic tennis tournament was added to the fundraiser. It was named after Bob Hagan, in honor of his service to the community and his deep commitment to Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self.
Today, the tournament continues to support the charities in North Fulton communities and together with the golf tournament, generates $150,000+ a year. The tournament attracts large and small business sponsors and individuals in North Fulton looking to make a difference in the areas in which they live and do business.

Play Golf, Do Good
Seeing a need for a community fundraiser, Roswell Rotarians Frank Brown, Judge Maurice Hilliard and former Mayor of Roswell Aubrey Greenway began a golf tournament in 1978. The first tournament, raised $3500 for charities in the North Fulton community. While the tournament initially started as a Rotary event, it has grown into one of the largest 100% volunteer community fundraisers . Today, the golf & tennis tournaments continue to support charities in North Fulton and generate close to $200,000 a year. The tournament attracts large and small business sponsors and individuals in North Fulton looking to make a difference in the areas in which they live and do business. The tournament was named after Aubrey Greenway, after his death in 1991. Aubrey was a dedicated local businessman, civil servant and Roswell Rotarian. Thanks Aubrey!

Betsy Matthews from the Extension gave a moving presentation regarding their residential program for addiction in Marietta. Our
club will be providing / serving a meal on Wed, Sept 13, to their 45
residents (catered). We need 5-6 Rotarians to help out. We'll arrive at 7pm, serve them at 730pm and eat with them, as Betsy suggested. We'll
need help picking up catered dinner (TBD) and maybe light shopping for
fruits, in addition to serving. Their kitchen is small, so space is
limited for volunteers. Let me know if you have interest in helping. | 15 | 16 Roswell: Rivers Alive River Clean Up Project Rivers Alive, Georgia’s
annual river cleanup, comes to Roswell on September 16. The event, co-hosted by
Keep Roswell Beautiful and the City of Roswell, is part of a statewide campaign
to preserve Georgia’s 70,100 miles of rivers and streams.
Small groups of volunteers will be dispersed across the city to perform
beautification projects, including litter pick-ups, invasive plant and shrub
removal, mulching, native plant planting, and storm drain marking. This year,
cleanup sites will include Riverside Park, Dotsie Garner Mills Park, Old

session from 1:30-4:00 so that we can accommodate more kids. Volunteers
are needed to help staff with a small group (2-4 kids) of children as
they rotate through camp stations and participate in various
activities. We'll make Tie Dye t-shirts, sing and dance, participate in
sensory play, art activities, and have tons of fun. Volunteers should
plan on getting a bit messy - and should dress for fun. I don't yet
have the Volunteer registration link ready to go, but it should be up in
