The LaGrange Rotary Club proudly participated in the LaGrange Fire Department's 9/11 Annual Memorial Stair Climb Challenge. .
Participants will ran or walked 110 stadium steps up and 110 stadium steps down at Callaway Stadium. There were 110 flights of stairs in the Twin Towers. During the event the radio traffic on 9/11 was played. LFD Chief John Brant says it’s important we never forget the events of that day.
“We are just grateful that we can honor those brave men and women that gave their lives bravely on that tragic day. Doing this stair climb is just a small gesture to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten,” said Brant. “Brave men and women risk their lives every day to ensure the safety of others and I believe this is one of the many events in which we can show our gratitude.”
All proceeds went to the Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund of Georgia.
