July 6, 2024, was sunny and warm, a perfect day for LaGrange's 40th annual children's 4th of July parade. The origin of this celebration was the idea of the wife of Rotarian Jim Boyd, Annette Mills Boyd. This parade was established to give the children of LaGrange an opportunity to participate in a festive celebration of the birth of our great nation. Although both Annette and Jim are no longer with us, the parade is still held in their honor.
Each year this children's parade is well received by all. The parade route is lined with families and neighbors. The beneficiaries must include all of the parade participants plus the spectators. The parade was also covered by local media.
December 5, 2024 was not such a warm day but it was a perfect day for LaGrange's Christmas parade.
February 22, 2025 was a wonderful evening for a Mardi Gras parade.
Participating in parades not only provides Rotarians visibility in the community but also brings a great sense of community spirit, peace building and pride. Best of all is the opportunity for fellowship among our club members. These event is covered by social media.
