Celebrate the New Rotary Year Dunwoody Style - Monday, July 5!

Join one and all on Monday, July 5 for the Dunwoody Independence Day Celebration - part of the Dunwoody Rotary tradition of having FUN since the event was established 30 years ago! It marks the start of a new Rotary Year - and fits perfectly with President Carter Stout's focus on making Rotary more visible in the community. For many years, you could count on seeing most Dunwoody Rotarians and their families at the festival - and we're counting on that this year too! So read through the calendar of events below, pull out your Rotary t-shirt and join in the fun where you can!

Did we mention that we're marching in the parade and operating our hot dog stand (with baked goods too) on July 5? Not to mention giving away 1,000 Dunwoody Rotary helium balloons? Here's how - and when - you and your family and friends can be involved:

Sunday afternoon (July 4) at Anne and Clark Glenn's home (1480 North Springs Drive, Dunwoody) from 3-5 pm, we'll be enjoying fellowship and libations while prepping the balloons for their helium fill. The focus is absolutely on FUN!

Hot dog stand and baked goods (Monday, July 5) - Near Fresh Market in Dunwoody Village (Publix across the street is a good option for parking)

  • Baking for the bake sale part of our booth? You can drop off baked goods to Carter before the 5th or bring to the hot dog stand on the 5th ... by 9:00 AM please ... baked goods should be packaged/wrapped for individual sales - priced at $1 per bag
  • Set up and decorating starts between 7:15 and 7:30 AM
  • Food prep starts about 9:00 AM
  • We can use more people to help start serving at 10:30 AM
  • With a little help with clean-up, we'll be done by noon

Float and parade (also Monday, July 5) ... All Saints Church Parking Lot (we are Line Up #33). Note: there is no parking in the All Saints lot - Kroger on Jett Ferry is a good choice

  • Decorating and balloon inflating starts between 7:15 and 7:30 AM
  • Everyone who is "marching" in the Parade (walkers, bikes, skateboards, scooters, riders on our vehicles) should join us at the All Saints Catholic Church parking lot by 8:00 AM

Join us at the hot dog stand at the end of the parade!

Fellowship Opportunity
Join Dunwoody Diners on July 10 - RSVP Today!

On Saturday, July 10, Dunwoody Diners will be back in action with organizers Ken and Sherry Levy at the helm. Our first gathering will be held at Aldo's Italian Restaurant. This Dunwoody tradition stretches back several years - letting Rotarians and partners enjoy fellowship together while raising some money for the Dunwoody Rotary Charitable Fund (you pay for your dinner and libations, and we ask for a $5 donation from each person attending).

Let Ken or Sherry Levy know by July 1 if you will be joining us.

Next Week's Special Meeting
Back by Popular Demand - Tony Barnhart on College Football

Invite your friends and family  next Friday- and don't miss out on Tony's predictions for 2021 college football. This is a great time to invite a potential new member who loves football.
