Join Us for Thirsty Thursday Tomorrow at Spruill Arts Center Pop Up in the Plaza

Tomorrow's Thirsty Thursday takes us to the Spruill Center for the Arts, 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, as we join in the Center's Pop-Up in the Plaza, with live music, food and drink, art demos and, of course, fellowship! The event runs from 5-8 pm, and is presented by The Rotary Club of Dunwoody as part of our partnership with the Spruill Center! Rumor has it our own Anne Glenn will be one of the bartenders. See you there!

Thank You!
What a Difference Two Hours Makes!

Last Saturday, Dunwoody Rotarians joined together to clear the weeds on this hillside at Dunwoody Nature Center. We'll be back again on Saturday, September 24 to continue our mission to Save the Ferns. And next Friday at Rotary, Master Gardener Cathie Brumfield will talk to us about the importance of plants.

Last Week's Speaker
Follow-Up to Presentation from Dunamis

As those of you who attended last Friday know, technology issues prevented us from showing a video segment from the new documentary about Dunamis. You now have the opportunity to watch the video by clicking this link and see some of the ways Dunamis is working to restore these underage girls who have suffered from trafficking and domestic violence. Jackie Cuthbert and Susan Schwall have visited with the girls in Quito and couldn't say enough about what Dunamis is doing.

As Dave McCleary, leader of the Rotary Action Group Against Slavery (RAGAS), said at our meeting, we are exploring opportunities to help Dunamis in its mission. We hope you will take the time to watch this video. And we apologize for the technical difficulties - both with Zoom and the video.

GRSP Update
Welcome Shashwat Pradham from Nepal - Dunwoody's 2022-23 GRSP Student!

We are excited to announce that Shashwat Pradham has arrived to study at Oglethorpe University for the next four years. Shaswat attended the Lincoln School Nepal, an American-based school supported by our State Department. His instructors talk about his curiosity, his perseverance and his ability to engage people and make them smile.

Dunwoody golfers get ready: Shashwat is one of the top-rated amateur golfers in Nepal. He is also a poet and has a heart for serving others. Shaswat started a blog in Nepal about nutrition and fitness, and helped collect clothes and provide food for impoverished people in his country who suffered during COVID.

Shashwat's sister and her husband live in Morningside.

Tim and Amy Le, and Lorri Christopher and Jackie Cuthbert will serve as hosts for Shashwat.
