FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at lynn.dunn@rmcpa.com

President John’s Message

Roswell Rotary leads District 6900 in support of Interact clubs in our schools.  Just about every school in the Roswell High School cluster of elementary and middle schools have an Interact club that we sponsor.  In addition, we have clubs at Independence High School, the Cottage School, Blessed Trinity Catholic High School and Fellowship Christian School.  And more are on their way.  Vickery Mill Elementary is starting a club this year and Queen of Angels is exploring the idea.

Roswell Rotarians with a heart for our kids and education volunteer to be liaisons to these Interact clubs from our club.  It is a great way to get involved in our club and make a difference in the lives of our children in our community.  If this is of interest, let Michael Schoppenhorst or Becky Nelson know. We can always use new folks stepping up to help.

And don’t miss this week when we will hear from the kids in these clubs as they share with us their activities and goals for this school year.

Building Community By Giving
Nov 3 Program: Interact Clubs & Jason Weatherford, Exec Director RHS Jr. Hornets

Looking forward to one of the most inspiring meetings of our Rotary year.  The Interact Clubs are coming to tell us what they have done and what is upcoming on the calendar for this 2022-2023 academic year.

After their reports, then RHS Jr Hornets Executive Director, Jason Weatherford, will talk a bit about “Building Community by Giving”.  "Giving time and volunteering has built a great community for myself and my family.  Our organization and wonderful volunteers of coaches and parents are make the Jr Hornets a success for all the kids involved".

Past President Moment - Rick Dreger 1998-99

Last week we heard from Allen (AD) Dalton about starting the tradition of being recognized as the Club of The Year by District 6900.  This week we back up a year and hear from Past President Rick Dreger.  That year we elected our first woman Treasurer to our board who later became our first woman president.  Come hear what else we did or didn’t do in the Rotary year 1998-99.

After Hours' Next Meeting is TONIGHT!

After Hours is thrilled to have a special guest speaker for tonight's meeting: Roswell Rotary's own Debbie Cwalina of Be THE Voice! Debbie will talk about her organization's mission, background and how RRAH can become involved. All Rotarians are invited on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 at The Artillery Room @ Gate City!
