PRESIDENT ALEX'S MESSAGE

Fellow Rotarians-

I hope that everyone is enjoying their Summer. We have a lot of exciting things coming to Roswell Rotary, particularly with our Golf and Tennis Tournament (please sign up with Bob Clarkson and his committee to see how you can help and play) as well as our Veteran’s Initiatives- Honor Bus Trip for November 11th. Stay tuned! These will both be all hands on deck events.

This week, our guest is Tomer Zvulun. Tomer is bringing an exciting presentation on behalf of the Atlanta Opera. Please come on time so that you do not miss out on the presentation and rumor has it a guest performance or two.

Tomer Zvulun - The Man Behind the Opera Curtain

General and Artistic Director of the Atlanta Opera since 2013, Israeli born Tomer Zvulun is one of opera’s most exciting stage directors, earning consistent praise for his creative vision, often described as cinematic and fresh. His work has been presented and awarded domestically and internationally by prestigious opera houses. He launched Atlanta Opera’s Discoveries Series, he created the first young artist program in Atlanta Opera’s history, tripled the company’s annual revenue, created a film studio, and built a theatre in a circus tent where performances were conducted safely during the pandemic. Tomer’s work is being taught at Harvard Business School and back at home, Tomer gave a 2018 TEDx “Solve for X” Talk at Emory in Atlanta.  Opera in the Age of iPhones, Tomer warns us, “When art and design are not interactive, they are broken.  See his approach to reach new audiences with a 500-year-old artform: https://tomerzvulun.com/gallery
