President Nancy's Message

Kicking Off a New Rotary Year: Energize Roswell Through the Magic of Rotary

As we embark on a new Rotary year, there's an electrifying sense of purpose and community spirit in the air. This year's theme, "Energize Roswell Through the Magic of Rotary," captures our mission to invigorate our town with dynamic service, inspiring speakers, and a vibrant social scene.

We're thrilled to announce an exceptional lineup of speakers who will share insights on leadership, community development, innovative service projects and the latest medical issues and treatments. These talks promise to spark new thoughts and inspire action among all our members.

Our service projects, both new and returning, are set to make a significant impact. From supporting local schools and beautifying public spaces to providing essential resources to those in need, our projects reflect the Rotary commitment to making Roswell a better place for everyone.

Of course, Rotary is about more than just work—it's about building friendships and having fun. Our meetings will be infused with energy and excitement, including dancing to keep our spirits high and exercise off some of that fried chicken.  Our social calendar is packed with events that offer camaraderie but more importantly where we'll celebrate our successes and enjoy each other's company in a relaxed, festive atmosphere.

Join us as we energize Roswell through the magic of Rotary. Together, we'll make this year unforgettable!

President Nancy

What a Day!
The 4th Annual Cops 'N Cars Show

Just WOW!  The 4th Annual Cops 'N Cars Event with the Roswell Police Dept was such a hit.  Great weather, wonderful volunteers, very cool cars, and the fun vibe of our Roswell community enjoying a community event and supporting our first responders.

Special thanks to Mary Trapp who planned our tent display with fun colorful Hawaiian leis and a parrot tablecloth. Michael Curling was there to help set up the tent and man the booth.

Thank you all for being there to show the community that Roswell Rotary is always hard at work and to share the Magic of Roswell Rotary! We had info for new members, Golf & Tennis Tournament, and the Corvette raffle for polio! So much fun to see so many friends and neighbors. Find a project and volunteer. It's such a great way to show our love for Roswell. Energizing!!!

Rotary Youth Exchange program needs 2 Host Families

CRUNCH TIME!!!

Rotarians, our Club’s Rotary Youth Exchange student arrives in Atlanta from JAPAN on JULY 28th!! We’re looking forward to her arrival! We are also looking for 2, yes, TWO additional Host Families to host her stay, either the 1st segment: July 25 - November 1 OR February 15 - May 15. If not you, please ask your Roswell friends & neighbors.

As a refresher, each Host Family would share their home with her for 90 days. Requirements for the family are:
1) Background check for household members 18+ years old;
2) Certification courses aligned with being responsible for a teenager. Together, both take about 90 minutes to complete.

Please spread the word to your friends, family, and neighbors!! It’s a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange! Our RYE student hopes to play on the RHS softball team!

Juan is Back!

We are excited to welcome back Chef Juan Venegas! For those of you who attended Nancy's Installation party, Chef Juan prepared our meal and it was a hit! For those of you who are new to the Club, Juan has been a key part of our Thursday lunches since 2011. His energy, happy spirit, and love for people as well as his mad culinary skills were something our Club members looked forward to enjoying each week. Juan took a year off last year and he was sorely missed. We are excited that he will again be energizing our kitchen and sharing his joy with all of us!

Here is what others have to say about Juan:
"I’m so happy he’s back and part of the Rotary family again" -President Nancy

“I have a ton of respect for Chef Juan Venegas!  As a former restaurant owner, I have always appreciated Juan’s professionalism.  He’s always the first person there and the last to leave. The #1 reason I’m so excited to have him back with us on Thursdays is his excellent food! Excellent fried chicken of course, but I have really missed his meatloaf.  Welcome back, Chef Juan!” - Michael Gould

"In 2011 as I entered my year as president the person in charge of our kitchen, Pat Stamps told me she had other commitments, and she would not be able to continue her job running the kitchen. I remember thinking, "I don’t want my first job as President to screw up the kitchen." So I asked Pat to help me find someone.  The next week we interviewed Juan and I hired him the next week.  Not only was the food better, but he saved us a lot of money, as well (thank you Pat Stamps). Juan always gives great service and I've never had a problem. It was one of my best decisions! I am so happy he is returning to RR".-Dave McCleary-Past President

And a message to the Club from Juan-"I am incredibly grateful for the warm welcome words from Club members, and that makes me happy to be back. From my side, I can tell the Club that I am ready to fry that chicken again and ready to bring my best to the Club every Thursday. Thank you everyone, looking forward to working together in the years to come"- Chef Juan

Huskies Helping Huskies

Remember when you were a child, and the excitement you felt when receiving a brand new school bag filled with crayons, pens and a notebook?

Well Rotarians, it's that time again, when Roswell's children are gearing up for their new academic year. Sadly, not every child is in a position to receive new supplies: that's where WE come in! Roswell Rotary is joining with Huskies Helping Huskles to insure that every child will know the joy of beginning their new school year with all of the items they need for success!

Above you will find two QR codes with all of the specific school supplies our 40 CMS students will need to start the year off right!

All purchases will be delivered directly to the HHH distribution coordinator's house. HHH will distribute supplies to the students at the CMS Information Day event, which takes place the last week of July. Know that helping a child is as easy as scanning a QR code!

We will be soliciting your help through July 26. Thank you for helping Crabapple Middle School children. Questions? Speak with Alex Shuval-Weiner (Rabbie Alex)

Meals on Wheels Needs Your Help!

Meals on Wheels America is the leadership organization supporting the more than 5,000 community-based programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. Powered by a trusted volunteer workforce, this network delivers a comprehensive solution that begins with a meal and is proven to enable independence and well-being through the additional benefits of tailored nutrition, social connection, safety and much more.

Roswell Rotary supports Meals on Wheels out of North Fulton Senior Services by signing up to deliver meals 1 or 2 days a week. A typical route commitment lasts only 1.5 hours. The routes take place right before lunchtime, with most meals being picked up at the center between 10:00 and 11:00 am each day. If interested in delivering meals to your senior neighbors, please contact Mary Trapp marytrapp@kw.com or 770-645-1320.
