Mike became Chief of Police for the Dunwoody Police Department on April 12, 2024. He has a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University and a BA in Organizational Leadership/Public Safety from Reinhardt University. Chief Carlson is a graduate of the 276th Session of the FBI National Academy, the Georgia Command College, Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange (GILEE) and the Senior Management Institute for Policing (SMIP).

In 1994, Chief Carlson began his military career in the USMC Reserve and ultimately retired as a Captain with the Georgia Army National Guard in 2022. During his tenure, he was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2014, where he was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Meritorious Unit Commendation and Meritorious Service Medal. Five Host Families Needed for GRSP Leadership Weekend - Feb 14-16

With 10 days to go, we are still looking for weekend spots for 10 GRSP college students ... many of our regular hosts are out-of-town or otherwise occupied for the weekend. Hosts would provide:

  • transportation to and from the Dunwoody Annex on North Shallowford on Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening, and Sunday morning
  • beds for Friday and Saturday nights
  • breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.

We invite all hosting families to join us for pizza/game night on Friday and for Saturday night dinner.

Please let Jackie Cuthbert know if you can help. And thanks to all who have volunteered already!

432 Cans Collected for Malachi's Storehouse

Thanks to all who brought canned goods to support the Dunwoody Elementary School Soup-er Bowl drive in support of Malachi's Storehouse. With our help, the students collected 432 cans for Malachi's. Thanks also to Ron Barden and Ed Holliday for helping the students pack up their donation! Good work - great act of kindness.

Golf Tournament Update
Keep Us On Course for Our Best Tournament Yet!

With your help, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody is on course for a BIG result at our Fourth Annual Fore the Memories Golf Tournament, where we hope to raise at least $50,000 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, Anchor Place Respite Care and our Rotary Club of Dunwoody Charitable Fund. Think about SPONSORS, about donations for our AUCTION, and about GOLFERS.

And mark your calendar for May 19!!! The tournament will take place on Monday, May 19 at St. Marlo Country Club. There are ways for everyone to be involved! Start thinking about possible sponsors and auction items. Visit the FORE the Memories web site for more information.

March 10-15 | Western North Carolina
Join District 6900's Next Disaster Relief Trip

Rain, shine, hot or cold, even snow hasn't been able to stop our disaster relief trailer. We are headed back to Western North Carolina to work on rebuilding projects the week of March 10. We will stay at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly at one of their lodges. We will work hard every day and enjoy some group fellowship in the evenings while supporting the local economy. The first several trips have not only been provided fulfilling work, but some great camaraderie. We hope you can join us for some or all of our next trip. Fill out this quick form to sign up.
